The Daniels Family Mission News July 2010

...Pressing On

...I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Phil. 3:12b

Hola de Honduras,

June and July are always fun, but busy. That's when most of the teams come to visit. Therefore this June was no exception. To start the month we had Rick Grice and his team from Louisville, Ky.. This team was loaded with evangelism! They purchased food, brought bibles, bibles on MP3 for those who can't read, bracelets and necklaces with colored beads to teach the creation and shed blood of Christ, and other teaching materials. We then went door-to-door sharing the love of Christ and His way to salvation. The Northamerican women spent time sharing the good news to the women and children using the bracelets and necklaces. The Northamerican men held a men's conference in El Zapote, each one teaching and sharing, followed by a drama of the prodigal son. We men, then spent the night in hammocks in the new church. I'm still seeing the fruit of their visit today.

The next group, led by John Michael Hall, came from Des Moines, Iowa. These four men were definitely bringing out the universal language. The language of “conviction.” You could see it in the eyes of so many. We visited homes in El Zapote, Potreo Grande, Chiligatoro, Yamaranguila, and San Buenaventura, sharing also with people in the streets of La Esperanza. We listened to testimony after testimony from several missionaries, rejoicing in how many ways Christ can bring His people into His kingdom and His work. Best of all we witnessed people from Honduras come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior. This group certainly convicted me to do more sharing when I'm at the bank, the market, the corner store, or whereever there are people open to hear the gospel. Oh yes, I almost forgot that we were also able to go into the prison. We had a wonderful time sharing at the jail to the many inmates. Anywhere there are people, we must go. We must share the good news.

Then came group number 3, a team led by Bill Ross from Macon, Mississippi. This team also purchased food and gave food and bibles to the poor and poor in spirit. One of the villages we visited is called La Mesas (The Tables). One family gave an answer that I have not heard in a long time. The mother said she had never hear of God or Jesus Christ and asked our friend, Samuel, to return again to share the story with her entire family. We find so many who know who Jesus is but haven't put their trust in Him. But to hear someone say that they have never even heard His name is heartbreaking. This is why all the teams are so encouraging to me and my family. Even we, as missionaries, sometimes get into a rut and forget the urgency of sharing to a lost world. A pastor and brother of mine, Terry, showed me the statistics that someone dies every 2 seconds. How many of those died without knowing Christ as their personal Savior? Only God knows this, however, His commandment to us is to go “and make disciples of all nations”. We charge you to do the same.
